Bison USA is looking for a Marketing Manager. The Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and execution of unique strategic marketing campaigns that will market enhance Bison USA’s products, services, opportunities, culture and overall brand presence – both internally and externally.

The Logistics Assistant (LA) carries out duties associated with the day to day administrative function of our Logistics Department. Key duties include sending carrier contracts, proactive order/equipment tracing, recording of information in the logistics system, and trouble shooting, as required. The primary purpose of this job is to ensure that all service deliverables are on track while keeping the secondary purpose in mind to also ensure administrative functions of Logistics department are completed in an accurate, timely and complete manner. The ideal candidate will have the desire and core competencies to develop in the role to become a Logistics Coordinator (LC) aka Freight Broker.

    • Schedule pickup & delivery appointments.
    • Obtaining event updates (p/u, Delivery, check call) on all freight movements.
    • Obtaining trailer exchange information relating to transactions & updating associated Empty moves,
    • Obtaining load details that may not be available prior to loading such as pieces/weights/missing reference numbers.
    • Verifying that the carrier is aware of all pertinent details of the load (p/u & delivery locations and appointment times) as well as proactively tracing the pickup event, check call locations while the load is in transit and finally the delivery of the order.
    • Effectively communicate all pertinent information to all potential stake holders and take appropriate action where necessary in the event that an issue with a load should arise or service requirements of a load are in jeopardy. REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management (preferred, not required) and/or familiarity or working knowledge of the transportation industry is helpful.
    • Candidates must possess excellent Attention to Detail skills, Be able to Multi-task, have an Analytical yet Creative mindset along with superior communication skills.
    • Must be personable, ambitious, career-minded and be ready to prove yourself in an effort to rapidly outgrow the position and be promoted to a Logistics Coordinator (LC).

Bison USA is looking for a Driver Recruiting Manager (DRM). The Driver Recruiting Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Driver Recruiting for Bison USA. This is accomplished through planning, organizing, directing growth of our driver pool, and assisting in retention strategies. The DRM will provide new, creative solutions, methods, and programs to keep pace with the marketplace, the needs of drivers, and Bison USA. The DRM will address issues, build trust and confidence, and establish open lines of communication in order to maintain positive relationships with our prospective drivers. This role will be critical for integrating new business segment post acquisition beyond current structure.

This position will require a strategic focus with strengths in project management and business development. We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, creativity, and excellent problem-solving skills. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, coaching, and performance management skills, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a multi-tasking environment. 

Finally, this position requires previous or current driver recruiting experience (3+ years preferably), a Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent in related experience in the transportation/trucking industry), progressive knowledge of the transportation industry, and 5+ years of experience managing personnel.

Bison USA is looking for a DOT Compliance Specialist. The Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for driver compliance with FMCSA hour-of-service regulations (HOS). This includes monitoring, auditing, and evaluating driver logs for violations or missing information, assessing and correcting (or assigning drivers to correct) unassigned or miscategorized duty time, communicating any frequent errors or persistent log mistakes, and their resolutions, with drivers and notifying drivers when a log violation has occurred and when information is needed. The Compliance Specialist will also serve as PeopleNet contact for driver Q&A, unit remote troubleshooting, and console training, obtain information from databases containing driver, load, equipment, and customer information, answer driver questions about DOT hours of service standards, best practices, and company expectations, contact drivers when praise, coaching, progressive discipline, or training is required, assist drivers with incoming and outgoing crash reporting protocol, assist or substitute in Driver Orientation classes and training, and engage in projects and activities, as assigned.

Must Haves:

* Transportation/Trucking Industry Experience

* Familiarity with electronic logs (e-logs) and e-log auditing.

* PeopleNet experience very helpful, but not required.

Bison USA is looking for a Diesel Technician / Mechanic. The Diesel Tech will be responsible for providing basic mechanical maintenance on all company vehicles and trailers.

The Diesel Technician will:

  • Run diagnostic testing to detect electrical and mechanical issues and interpret the results for accurate repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and complete any repairs needed – including lubrication and oil changes.
  • Trouble-shoot and repair deficiencies or malfunctions on various company vehicles (& trailers)
  • Analyze parts or equipment with premature wear of failure and take corrective measures to prevent future failures
  • May be required to “detail” equipment on occasion
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records on vehicles and equipment
  • General housekeeping and grounds maintenance duties as needed
  • Participate in and contribute to various tasks that facilitate achievement of company goals.

For this opening, we are specifically looking for someone who can work independently in a multi-task environment on equipment that requires a high level of skill. Our successful candidate will be reliable, have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to read and interpret shop repair forms, use the shop/s software, and follow verbal and written instructions. Our successful candidate will be able to use basic hand tools, pneumatic tools, precision gauges and micrometers, lifting equipment, and welders. This position must work on-site in our Des Moines, IA maintenance shop. This position requires a high school diploma or its equivalent plus 1 year of relevant experience. A Diesel Technician Certification and experience with TMT Software are preferred.
